Wendy D. Lewis
Chief Patient Coordinator

Wendy is originally from Wimbledon London England. She graduated from Pelham high school London and later from Modern College in Surrey with a degree in Exercise Physiology. Wendy served in the Women’s Royal Army Corp for 4 years as a Communications Specialist and Physical Education Instructor. In 1981 she immigrated to the United States, she joined Dr. Herring’s practice in 2002. Included in her duties within the practice, Wendy communicates all test results to referring physicians and to the patient, scheduling of surgical procedures, and coordination of liver transplant for Dr. Herring’s patients.
Toady Wendy still continues her health and wellness training by becoming board certified with the American College of Sports Medicine as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Coach. She has two grown children and a granddaughter. She is still an avid workout enthusiast and has expanded her love of fitness into running and competed in her first marathon last year.

Tammy Beachboard
Billing Coordinator
Tammy is a native of Nashville, Tennessee. She graduated from Mt. Juliet high school. Tammy enjoys spending time with her family (being a grandmother), gardening, music and NASCAR. Tammy joined the practice in 2009, her main duties are the posting of charges, billing and collections plus is the insurance liaison within the practice.

Ben Coleman, CHCO
Director of Marketing & Business Development

Ben’s medical career spans 30 years. His original career track in healthcare was bio-medical engineering. Early in his career it became apparent that sales and marketing was his passion. This passion lead him to several senior level marketing positions within the patient equipment market. He joined Dr. Herring in 2013 as the Director of Marketing and Business Development. The new challenges that the healthcare market faces today, are what keeps driving Ben’s passion for the industry. We develop solutions for our patients and our business always to enhance our patient care and there experience when visiting our practice. We strive for excellence by keeping our patients and their families first!
A few of Ben’s hobbies are taking time off with his wife, together they enjoy flying, hunting and most outdoor activities.

Tricia J. Moore
Office Manager

Trish was born and raised in Rhinelander, WI. She graduated, with honors, from Rhinelander High School. Trish relocated in to Nashville in 1996 and has loved living here ever since. Through Hard work and determination was elevated to her current role of office manager.
Trish is married with two sons, who keep her extremely busy. As a family they enjoy traveling, fishing, camping, four wheeling, and any sports you can imagine. Trish and her husband are avid hunters and love the outdoors.

Karen W. Gill, RN
Director of Nursing

Karen is a native of Nashville. She graduated from Hillsboro High. She then attended Langston University in Tulsa, OK graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. She returned to Nashville to work as an RN at Southern Hills Medical and to raise a family. She worked as a charge nurse for 5 years and in the Critical Care Unit. She is certified in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. She received critical care training through UT Knoxville. Karen began working with Dr. Herring in 1999 and is a member on good standing of the Society of Gastrointestinal Nurses Association. Karen has 2 beautiful daughters that attend UT Martin and lives in Franklin TN. Karen’s hobbies include listening to the blues with her husband.

Sarah Gill
Second recipient of the Dr. Herring College Scholarship Award

Sarah Gill announced as the second recipient of the Dr. Herring Scholarship Award. Sarah graduated from Franklin High School in 2013. She received the Williamson County Honors Diploma and graduated with a 4.0 grade point average. Sarah is a native of Franklin. She is active in her church and has played soccer for many years. She plans to attend UT Martin University where she will major in biology.
The Doctor Robert W. Herring Jr. Scholarship Foundation was formed in 2010 based upon Dr. Herrings support and belief that everyone should have the opportunity to attend college. Dr. Herring strongly supports higher education and has shown political support of the current Tennessee governs program “Tennessee Promise”.
Dr. Herring’s strong educational beliefs are based upon today’s competitive job market where education is key in obtaining successful employment. “Without undergraduate and graduate studies it is very difficult for America and its workforce to compete in the global economy” stated by Dr. Herring at the announcement of Erin’s selection. Dr. Herring also believes education is the corner stone needed to build business, science and HealthCare leaders of tomorrow.

Ana Gonzalez Cannon

Ana Gonzalez Cannon, registered nurse with many years of experience in the field, has become part of the clinic’s team at Doctor’s Robert Herring office.
Ana is a graduate of Volunteer State College, with expertise in the area of gastroenterology and primary gastrointestinal surgery, has accumulated 26 years of career in the gastrointestinal area. Came to Nashville in 1975.Working 10 years at Memorial Hospital (now TriStar Group) as a graduate nurse, then step to the area of Gastroenterology.
Ana is bilingual (Spanish / English), of Venezuelan origin, therefore it plays a very important role is to interpret for patients who find it difficult to talk to your doctor.
Ana enjoys doing this very much, because it allows her to help her belovedcommunity. Dr. Herring and his team are very happy to have Ana as part of the medical staff. New patients and those who have already been served by the clinic are very pleased with her professionalism. Ana es bilingüe, (español/ingles), de origen venezolano, por eso cumple una función muy importante que es la de interprete para los pacientes que se les dificulta hablar con su doctor.
